We’ve had a few children talking about the dancing they do out of school recently. They’ve been really brave and have been doing demonstrations for the rest of the class.
We decided to watch a video of some people dancing. Miss Parker showed us some Ballet danced by professional ballet dancers. We were memorised and watched it without a sound or any movement. Some of us said we didn’t think grown ups could get their legs that high and some of us were surprised to see boys as well as girls dancing. We watched another clip later in the day and compared to two.
We asked Miss Oades to help us the next time she was in class as she used to do lots of dance when she was younger. We made our PE session a dance session and used lots of different types of music to see how we danced differently to different music.
Can you guess what sort of music we were listening to from looking at our moves?
We found it really interesting finding out about different types of dance. Well done to the girls who shared their home experiences of dance which led to everyone finding out more about different types of dance.
We had another great time at Workshop again this week. Our task was to make Moon Sand.
We had to work with our grown ups to make our moon sand and while were having fun we were following instructions, experiencing different textures and measuring. Our grown ups were learning how everyday activities can be used to help our learning.
We had a fabulous time! Don’t forget to look what our workshop is next week and sign up to secure your place. There are limited places so don’t leave it too late.
If your child came to our Nursery you may have been involved in the Home Learning Project with Mrs Brown. The good news is she has started holding workshops for the Reception children and their families as well.! 🙂 All the children are welcome to attend although we do send invitations to those who we receive extra funds for through the Pupil Premium.
All you have to do is look at the classroom door to see what the workshop is that week and then sign up in the classroom. If you have a child in Nursery as well you can sign up to the morning workshop with them. If you only have a child in Reception class you can sign up to the afternoon workshop. There are 6 spaces for each FS2 class. Don’t worry if you have younger children and no one to look after them, they can come and join in the fun.
Look at the fun everyone had last week at the Monster Biscuit workshop. While we were having all that fun we were learning all about counting, measuring, sharing and loads more.
Come and find out some fun and easy ways to help your child learn at home. Next week we’re Making Moon Sand. Don’t forget to sign up in the classroom to let us know you want to come.
FS2 Workshops are held every Thursday 2.30- 3pm.
