Anti-Bullying Week was 12th-16th November 2018.
We spent the week in Onyx Class talking about bullying and what we thought bullying was.
Tyler KP- Bullies not be your friend.
Oliver- Cos they hurt people.
Ruby- Them will sting you.
Harrison- They sting you and they really hurt.
Soliana- Its fighting or kicking or slapping or hitting.
Tori-Jae- Bullying can be swearing or naughty words.
Macey- If they kick you one time thats not bullying.
Desten- Its everyday.
Roman- Lots of times.
It was important that we knew what bullies might do but also that it happened all the time by the same person. We also talked about what to do if we saw bullying or thought someone was bullying us.
Tyler T- Tell a teacher
Tia- Tell mummies or daddies.
Blake- We tell nannies or grandad.
Mrs Murch helped us collect all of our ideas and took photos so we could turn our ideas into a book for our classroom. We had to think about the words for our book and act out what would happen for the pictures. There is now a copy of our book in the book corner so we can read it whenever we want. You can see a copy of it here…
We did our Christmas Nativity for our grown ups today and we did such an amazing job. Everybody remembered their lines and their acting. We all did a fabulous job of singing all the songs. Well done everyone!
You can see all the special roles here. Do you recognise anyone?
And here we are in some action shots….
A huge well done to everyone! You were all superstars! 🙂 Your parents and carers thought so too. Look at some of the amazing comments they left.
A couple of weeks ago in school it was Anti-Bullying Week. We did lots of talking about what a bully is and what to do if we think we see someone who is a bully. We also talked lots about how to be a good friend and make sure we are not a bully.
At the end of the week we collected all our ideas and made a book. You can read it here…
We acted out our ideas and took photos to make our book. We only pretended to be bullies though. After we made our book we put it in our reading corner so we could keep on reading it. We really enjoyed reading our book. We hope you like it.
Parents/carers- you can read the book again at home with your child and make sure they understand what a bully is and what a bully does. It is important for your child to understand that for these behaviours to be bullying it happens frequently and is targeted at the same child or children.
Last week we did our Christmas Performance in school for our families. After a couple of weeks of practising it was exciting to get to show off all our hard work. Everyone did a fabulous job of remembering their lines, knowing where to stand and move to and, of course, singing all the wonderful songs with actions.
We had a show with lots of counting and numbers in it this year which was another great opportunity to practise our maths. We worked hard with Garnet class and with Diamond (Nursery) class. We enjoyed working with our friends and some of us even got to perform with our younger brothers and sisters.
Well done everyone! You were amazing! We collected some comments from your families and they said the same thing too. We’re glad they enjoyed it so much 🙂
(Thanks to everyone who commented-we’re sorry we haven’t got room for them all here but they have gone into Learning Journeys)
